Glossary

Clear, citable definitions for the building blocks of modern financial infrastructure.

Agentic payments

Agentic payments are transactions initiated and executed by autonomous AI agents rather than by a human clicking a button. They require the agent to have a wallet, a verified identity and bounded authority so it can pay within rules a business defines. Hamirach delivers agentic payments through MCP-native tools and on-chain signed mandates.

AI agent payments

AI agent payments let software agents hold, send and receive money safely on behalf of a user or business. The key safeguards are agent identity verification and signed mandates that cap what an agent can spend and prove who authorized it. Hamirach exposes these capabilities to agents over the Model Context Protocol.

Banking as a Service (BaaS)

Banking as a Service (BaaS) lets a company embed financial products — accounts, payments, cards — into its own app via API instead of building or becoming a bank. Regulated functions run through licensed partners behind the API. Hamirach offers multi-tenant, white-label BaaS combining crypto and fiat in one API.

Read

Card issuing API

A card issuing API lets a company create and manage virtual or physical payment cards programmatically, instead of running its own card program. Funding, controls and lifecycle are handled via API, with issuing through licensed partners. Hamirach supports white-label card programs funded by crypto or fiat.

Read

Cross-border payments

Cross-border payments move money between parties in different countries or currencies, traditionally slow and costly through correspondent banking. Stablecoin settlement can make them faster and cheaper while local rails handle the final payout. Hamirach combines both in one API, LATAM-first.

Crypto custody

Crypto custody is the secure storage and controlled movement of digital assets and the cryptographic keys that control them. Institutional custody must prevent loss, theft and single points of key compromise while keeping funds available to move. Hamirach provides custody as an API across Polygon, Base and Monad.

Read

Embedded finance

Embedded finance is the integration of financial services directly into non-financial products, so users pay, hold or borrow without leaving the app. It is delivered through APIs that abstract banking, payments and custody. Hamirach provides embedded finance for fintechs, marketplaces and AI platforms, LATAM-first.

FX as a service

FX as a service exposes currency conversion, rates and treasury operations through an API so businesses can hold and move funds across currencies without an FX desk. It supports multi-currency balances and real-time conversion. Hamirach offers FX and treasury as an API for companies operating across LATAM.

KYC / AML

KYC (Know Your Customer) verifies the identity of users, and AML (Anti-Money-Laundering) monitors activity to detect and prevent illicit funds. Both are required to operate compliant financial products. Hamirach runs KYC, KYB and AML — and AI-agent identity — through its compliance layer, Rillis.

MCP payments (Model Context Protocol)

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI agents discover and call external tools. MCP payments means exposing financial actions — like checking balances or sending funds — as MCP tools an agent can use directly. Hamirach runs an MCP server (hamirach-fintech) so agents can transact within verified, auditable limits.

Read

MPC custody

MPC (multi-party computation) custody splits a private key into shares held by different parties, so no single party ever holds the full key and transactions require a threshold to sign. This removes the single point of failure of a traditional private key. Hamirach uses MPC plus KMS-secured key management for its custody.

Read

On-chain attestation

On-chain attestation records a verifiable claim — such as a signed mandate or contract — on a blockchain so it is tamper-evident and auditable by anyone. It turns a permission or agreement into provable, timestamped evidence. Hamirach anchors signed agent mandates and contracts on-chain (Monad) via Rillis.

Read

On-ramp / off-ramp

An on-ramp converts fiat into crypto; an off-ramp converts crypto back into fiat and settles to a bank account. Together they connect digital assets to local payment rails for deposits and payouts. Hamirach provides on/off-ramps and payouts via API, LATAM-first.

Read

Stablecoin infrastructure

Stablecoin infrastructure is the tooling to issue, hold, move, mint and burn stablecoins — digital tokens pegged to a fiat currency. It underpins fast settlement, payouts and treasury without legacy rails. Hamirach offers white-label stablecoin issuance and movement on Polygon and Base.

Virtual accounts (vIBAN)

Virtual accounts (including vIBANs) are uniquely numbered accounts issued under a master account to collect and reconcile payments per customer or purpose. They let businesses scale collections without opening a real bank account per user. Hamirach issues named virtual accounts and vIBANs via API.
